Richard is a Partner and is helping clients with development opportunities both brownfield and greenfield, working closely with landowners, promoters and housebuilders. Richard has a special focus on advising and supporting housebuilders in meeting their requirements for residential land. He also works with local authorities, land promotion companies and public bodies throughout the development process from planning to sales.

Richard leads the Gloucester Land Development team and he has gained a considerable amount of experience from the initial identification of strategic land, through to promotion of strategic land, the planning process and the identification and securing of promoters. Richard advises clients on the setting up of and negotiation of option and promotion agreements as well as providing viability appraisals for planning applications.

He is also helping clients with the calculation of overage, rural exception sites, starter homes, agricultural dwellings and barn conversions. Richard has been appointed to the RICS Dispute Resolution Panel for Development Land disputes on a nationwide basis which enables him to receive appointments made by the President of the RICS.
